Preparing for your PESCI.

The Pre-Employment Structured Clinical Interview (PESCI) is used for some international medical graduates who want to work in general practice. It assesses whether you can work safely in a particular GP position, with the proposed level of supervision.

The basics

What is a PESCI?

What it assesses

Clinical knowledge, communication and decision-making for a specific general practice position.

Job-specific

A PESCI is linked to the job you've been offered. It is not a general licensing exam.

Does every IMG need one?

No. It depends on your pathway and position, including some doctors on the Competent Authority pathway.
